Draper Temple Open-House

We actually went to the open house a couple different times. Once with Scott's parents and siblings and nieces and once with my parents and my siblings (well, 2 of them). It is a really beautiful place and it is a fun family activity!

This is the night we went with my family. (Dad, "Boots", Scott, Me, "Dusty", and mom was taking the photo) We are lame and didn't get any pictures with Scott's family.

If you can still get tickets and make it up to the Draper temple, you should definitely go!

Cuteness

This is our gorgeous new niece (niece number 8). We are all ready completely in love with her.

Check out all that hair! She is so lucky and oh so precious.

oh Romance

I have always found Valentine's day to be a pretty dumb holiday. I still think it is pretty silly, but when you are married- it's a good excuse to get a romantic day out of each other! We had a fun filled day starting with a yummy breakfast of gourmet crepes. Yes, they are homemade. If anyone wants to know how to make them or wants ideas of what to put in them- just let me know! (FYI- fresh strawberries, sour cream and brown sugar are delectable)

The romantic set up for breakfast and our good eats

We celebrated the rest of the day by getting massages (which were Uh-Mazing!). We also went to the Gateway and saw the movie "Taken". (It was actually an all right flick.) Then Scott took me to a restaurant called Christopher's in downtown Salt Lake. It was a steak house and it was great too!! Afterwards we went home and had our own dessert of chocolate covered strawberries and a sparkling beverage (Scott loves sparkling beverages).

We had quite an enjoyable day spending time with each other and celebrating! I love my Honey

Happy Valentine's Day!

about MY honey

I got this idea from my pal Kayla. I thought is was a cute idea for Valentine's!

About my Valentine, Scott.

1- Where did you meet your husband?

We met at my friends birthday dinner in 2005. And according to Scott, he knew from that moment that I was who he had to marry :)

2- How long did you date before you were married?

We dated for 2 years!

3- How long have you been married?

We have been married for 5 months

4- What does he do that surprises you?

I will come home from work and he will have the bed made and laundry going! It's the best

5- What is his best feature?

Physically- his eyes and smile. Personality- he's hilarious and sweet

6- What is his best quality?

He has so many good qualities, but I would say his BEST quality is how loving he is to me and our families.

7- Does he have a nickname for you?

Yes. And I LOVE it. He calls me, Honey Dew.

8- What is his favorite food?

He's not picky... I would say his favorites are tri-tip steak and enchiladas.

He really enjoys watching football (College football especially!) He likes watching basketball sometimes too

10- When and where was your first kiss?

Our first kiss was Christmas 2005 in Scott's house

We like to do most everything together. We enjoy watching shows together, playing Rock Band or Dr. Mario, and going on walks

12- Do you have any children?

No. But maybe in a couple years!!

13- Does he have any hidden talents?

I don't know if these are hidden, but he is a great singer and he is very talented musically. He is an AWESOME bass player and he can somewhat play the banjo and cello.

15- Who said I love you first?

He did for sure!! I'm definitely not one to say that stuff first!

16- What is his favorite music?

Rock. He loves the band, Year Long Disaster. He also loves Clutch, Primus and Johnny Cash.

Tagg-ed

Kayla tagged me. And like her- I am also bored at work. So we'll give it a shot.

15 things you may or may not know about US!

1- We love to travel and go on trips. And we drive everywhere. We've been to California, Idaho, Lake Powell, Yellowstone, Vegas, Capitol Reef and many other places. We enjoy going on vacation together.

2- We like to watch random TV shows and get our friends hooked on a lot of them.

3- We love going to concerts. We have been to many, MANY concerts. We love to see Clutch, Year Long Disaster, Primus/Les Claypool, and many others. Concerts are much fun.

4- We want to travel around the world and have once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

5- This is completely random, but we both LOVE cheese! It is so great. And squeaky cheese from 'a place called Beaver' is amazing.

6- Elise hates spiders with a passion and Scott is her spider-killer.

7- We love to go to the drive-in. It is so much fun to take our dad's truck and make a huge comfy spot and lay out under the stars to watch a movie.

8- We own many instruments: guitars, basses, cello, bagpipes, and a banjo. Our next purchase will hopefully be a piano.

9- I also lock every door, all the time. And Scott likes to tease me about the fact that I always remember to lock them right as we are getting on the freeway. He finds it amusing.

10- We are going to be receiving our 8Th niece in just a few short weeks! We have 0 nephews.

11- We have both had surgeries. I have had 6 in the past 2 1/2 years!

12- Scott likes to go to car shows. He loves cars! And I like to go with him. We saw these at the latest car show and we both hated them, but thought it would be entertaining to sit in them.

13- We love to go out- movies, restaurants, art shows, shopping.

14- We both love our sleep. However I am a night sleeper and can fall asleep the minute my head hits the pillow, no matter what. And Scott can never fall asleep, but can sleep in so late!

15- I am out of ideas so I will end on a cheesy note: We have been married for almost 6 months now and are LOVING married life. It's so great to have your best friend with you every day.

Rock Band

So we just bought the game 'Rockband' a few weeks ago and we LOVE to play! We really liked 'Guitar Hero' but this game is much more entertaining. We have been playing faithfully every weekend. We like to have the guys over ('the guys'= Todd, Dano and Eric) and my siblings like to join in on the fun as well. You should hear Todd sing "Chop Suey"- it's the best ever. You can always count on a good time when you play Rockband with us!

Dano, Eric, Todd and Scott- they like to get crazy sometimes

My sister "Boots" and I making faces

Dano, Todd and I jammin- they are so fun (Judging by the serious look on my face- it was probably getting very late)

We highly recommend this game to all who like music and like to have fun.

One Year Older... and wiser??

Shortly after Christmas, Scott and I celebrated our birthdays! (They are just 4 days apart) We like to make a big deal out of birthdays and celebrate all week. We went out to dinner quite a few times and had family parties, went out with friends, and ate plenty of cake and good food! We also got spoiled with many great gifts. We are lucky to have such great family, friends and each other. Happy Birthday!!

Our birthday cakes that we decorated for each other

Holy BONFIRE!

We went to my favorite restaurant- Bombay House. SO delectable

(We love Indian Food! Well... Scott and I love Indian food.) Todd, Dano, Mike, Ashlee, Ambria, Krystle and Chelsea were kind enough to join us!

"Christmas Is All Around Me"

While we were engaged we thought it would be a good idea to look for a home. We searched for weeks (maybe even months, I try to forget the awful searching...) and we found a GREAT first home. We moved all our things in before we were married and got pretty much settled. It was so nice to be able to move right into a home. We are so blessed! We also enjoyed celebrating our first Christmas as a married couple in our new home. We didn't have much furniture at the time in our front room, so luckily the tree took up a lot of space! Our Christmas tree is dear to my heart because it was my Grandmother's who passed away a few years ago. It has some interesting decorations- but we added our own touch to it and it turned out very nice!
