Random Happenings

Nothing too exciting has been going on other than Lake Powell. Thought I'd share a couple random happenings with you tho!

Does this look familiar to anyone? Yesh- Napoleon Dynamite's house. We took a short trip up to Logan and decided to drive just a bit further and see Napoleon's house in Preston, ID. The people who live here now didn't look to happy to see us driving by their home and our friends told us they have a couple mean dogs. So we did a drive-by picture taking of the house. We also took a pic of the D.I. that he shops at and the Cut-N-Coral that he mentions in the movie. Pretty funny!!

We also stopped and walked around the Logan Temple. (I've never seen it up close) It was so beautiful and fun. Then we went to a little ice cream shop and got us some aggie ice cream. Pretty good stuff.
Note: New hairdo... again!

Also, our kitten Nala has been sick with a cold the past few days and Scott took her to the vet. Poor thing had to get her temperature checked (and not in the pleasant spot) and get shots and all sorts of sad things. When Scott brought her home, she stayed in her pet taxi all day and her sister Kiara decided to keep her company. Such sweet kittens we have!

That's all.

Lake Powell

My family has been going to Lake Powell almost every summer for the past 17 years! My grandparents have a time share on a houseboat and let our entire family use it. That includes my aunts, uncles and cousins. There are usually 25 people there. It is crowded, but a good time. This year my boss and his family wanted to join us and camp near us. It was a blast to have them around- such funny people!

I didn't get a whole lot of pictures this year, not sure why. But this is us on the boat cruising around the lake.
We did lots of cruisin around and sight-seeing! We hiked up to these really cool Indian houses but we had to swim down this channel so I couldn't take my camera up to them. This is a pic of the petroglyphs and the houses are right underneath them. It was really neat, I wish I could have taken my camera!
We did a lot of tubing. I went for about 20 minutes with my boss's wife and ended up with a huge burn/hole on my elbow that is still not healing. Ha ha. But it was totally worth it! Such a blast. My sister, my brother and my boss's son and his friend all like to go tubing a lot. They would hook up two tubes and go for it. One tube is a one-man and the other is a three-man. But they all like to pile onto one tube while the boat is moving.

They were so hilarious to watch, they would fight and pile onto each other, jump from tube to tube. Pretty entertaining to say the least! This is them being nice.

And this is them after they tried to be fancy and Boots was the last one standing!

There was a lot of swimming going on and this was one hysterical moment I had to share:

Lake Powell was a blast- I think this was the last year we will be going tho! We want to venture out and do different vacations every year. We'll see how it goes! I enjoyed the sun, the heat, the good times, the company and the scenery.

Independence Day

The 4th of July has ALWAYS been one of my all time favorite holidays. No specific reason- I just love the BBQ's, Fireworks, Parades, family and fun! It is my husband's Family tradition to go to Grantsville every 4th of July and go to the parade and car show. Scott entered his mustang last year, but we decided against it this year. I was so sad because my camera battery died and I didn't get a single picture the whole time. But we had a blast running around with the nieces and looking at the cool cars.

The 4th of July is also my brother-in-laws birthday! So we had a big BBQ to celebrate the occasion and had all sorts of delicious food and festive red-white-and-blue desserts. Happy Birthday Richard!

That night we went to see my family. We always go to our same spot in Provo to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks. It is always fun and exciting and tons of family members and friends go with us:

The show was pretty lame this year, so that was disappointing. After the show we drove to my parents house and lit off a few fireworks of our own. (The firework picture from above is one of the fireworks we lit off.)

All the girls enjoying the show:

All our cute boys enjoying the show:

Happy 4th of July!!

A Turkey and a Four by Four

Last week our friends Eric and Colleen invited us to go bowling with them. Scott was excited but truthfully - I was not. I haven't been bowling in the LONGEST time. I would go with my friends when they would bowl, but I wouldn't participate. I've never liked it and I've never been good at it.

I went along anyway cause I like Eric and Colleen's company. They are so funny. And it ended up being a really fun night! I tried out the bowling and beat my "high" score of 11. (That really was my highest score before that night) I think I bowled somewhere in the low 80's. Which is not great- but obviously a big improvement for me.

So last night Scott and I were itching to go again. We decided to go bowling after 9 for the discount and our friend Todd joined us.

It ended up being Cosmic Bowling which didn't please Todd or Scott but I thought it was awesome. And it must have boosted my spirits or something because I bowled a TURKEY the first game and scored 109 and BEAT Scott and Todd's scores!! It was truly amazing.

The next game Scott bowled a FOUR BY FOUR and almost 5 in a row minus only 1 pin. It was SO cool! We got skills.
