Hey You Gu-uys!!!

Scott and I are known for being spontaneous and random! This weekend we decided to take a short trip up to Oregon. We have never been there before and one of Scott's favorite bands was having a concert in Portland. We left Friday and drove all day (it is a 12 hour drive) and spent the night out on the town in Portland. Saturday morning we drove out to Cannon Beach to see Haystack Rock that is famous for being in the movie, The Goonies. I love that movie. My friend Ashlee and I used to watch that show literally ALL the time. Such a great flick. It was windy and freezing cold on the beach, but we got a few photos.

After Cannon Beach we drove to Astoria (also where Goonies was filmed) and saw the museum, jail, bowling alley and houses that were in the movie. It was so fun because all of these places were marked for Goonie's fans.

Bowling Alley where Chunk is eating pizza and a shake at the beginning of the movie, watching the car chase

Museum where Mikey's dad works. He's putting a flag up on the flagpole in the movie

Jail where the bad guys bust out of at the beginning of the movie and light a fire around it

Mikey's house. The sign asks you to do your own truffle shuffle. Scott wouldn't do it.

We also happened to watch Kindergarten Cop while we were in Portland. That movie is ALSO based in Astoria and we had no idea. This is the school where Arnold teaches. Scott loved it.

We still had a ton of time left before our concert and so we decided to drive to Washington and see Mt. Saint Helen's. It was cloudy that day, so we didn't get a great view/picture of the volcano. It was still cool to see it tho!

After our trip to the coast and to Washington we wanted to see the Portland Temple. It is SO pretty and it is always a relief to see our beautiful temples in the middle of a big, crazy, wild city. It is comforting to see all the great people doing work at the temple on a Saturday night. I was bummed that we forgot our stuff!! All our pictures are dark and fuzzy-- so I didn't bother posting one.

The last event on our agenda was the Two Ton Boa concert. They did a fabulous job and we even got a shout out from Miss Sherry Frasier! We met her afterward and got our cd's signed and a photo. She is the sweetest. (If any of you know the band Marcy Playground.. he has a song about her!)

I am glad my honey is so spontaneous and fun to travel with. We had a great weekend!
