Birthday Girls & A Trip to Disney!

At the beginning of February is my niece Ashley's birthday. I am terrible and totally forgot to take my camera to her party. She had a Tinkerbell theme and so we gave her the NEW Tinkerbell movie on DVD. She was pretty excited. I can't believe she is 4 years old. Happy Birthday my sweet Ashy!!

A couple of weeks ago was Ashley's sisters birthday! Little Lexi-pie is now 2. I remembered my camera for her party and got a pic of the cute Ariel/Little Mermaid cake! I love these girls! I have a video of Lexi blowing out her candles...it is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I love that she knows exactly what to do, she blew them out all by herself and so quickly!

Here is the birthday girl in her main present... a car! She loved being pushed around in that thing all night by her sisters and cousins. All the kids wanted to give her a ride. It was so cute.

Scott's brother's family has been wanting to go to Disneyland for some time now. And they finally decided to just do it and set a time up!! Scott and I of course invited ourselves along because we have been needing a vacation for quite some time now. Shawn and Ang were kind enough to allow us to tag along with them to California!

We spent 4 days in Disneyland and that was definitely enough time for me. We had a blast though and the girls loved every minute of it. Here they are in front of the Princess Castle. What a cute family right!?
I didn't ride every ride...but there were a few that I dared attempt. This is Scott and I on a Toy Story ride at California Adventure. It kind of made me sick, but you basically just ride in this car and shoot a bunch of targets to gain points. Scott beat me by FAR- but I had better accuracy!! ;)
Every day the girls had matching Disney outfits. This was the day they got their Mickey Ear hat that was Princess-style! They loved them and wore them for most of the remaining trip.

Needless to say Lex and I were hooked at the hip. Since she was too small to ride most of the rides I got to hang out with her and keep entertained. I seriously adore all these girls and it makes me so happy that they like me too! I love being their Aunt.

This is just at the bottom of Tarzan's tree house... the girls LOVED this part! We thought it was a good photo opportunity and honestly this picture is for Ari!! Here is my big belly! 7 months along! (Not the best idea to walk around Disneyland for 4 days when you are 7 months along...but at least I got some good exercise!)

I had so much fun on this trip and I am so glad we had family to go with us this time. The girls just crack me up and are so adorable I can't even stand it! After we got home I seriously missed them so much! The next time I saw the girls, Lex ran up to me and gave me a big hug. I hope they enjoyed Disneyland as much as we did!

Yay for LoVe!

I feel like I never have the time to blog anymore! We have been super busy, but enjoying life and having good times. Back at the beginning of February we went to Joy Luck with Scott's fam for Chinese New Year! We have done this every year for the last few years and it is a blast. We eat a great dinner and get to watch the dragon (that is really a lion) dance around the restaurant and "eat" the money that all the kids love to feed it. Every year one of our nieces is young enough to be terrified of the dancing dragon- this year it was poor Lex. I didn't get any good photos of her cause she was just screaming and crying the whole night. Poor thing!! The other girls all had a blast feeding the dragon and hanging out with their cousin Aria. We haven't seen her in months and I can't believe how much she has grown! What a cute girl!!!

Valentine's weekend was so much fun. February is the month of our 1 year anniversary of being sealed! So we combined the holidays and had one fabulous evening together.

Neither one of us felt like fighting the crowds to go to a nice restaurant...and to be honest, Scott and I are pretty good cooks and decided we could cook dinner together and make an awesome dinner and enjoy the evening at home. And it was the BEST. Honestly!! Scott grilled us up some fillet Mignon and I made us steamed asparagus with hollandaise, garlic mashed potatoes and bread pudding with chocolate sauce for dessert. It was the best dinner ever and it was easy to make and best of all- we didn't have to fight any crowds! I loved spending the night at home with my man. He is seriously the BEST husband. I don't know what I would do without him.

The cooks!!!

Our awesome set up and delicious dinner- plus dessert!

I hope everyone enjoyed Valentine's Day and did something romantic and fun!

Happy Birthday!

As most of you know- January is BIRTHDAY month at our home! We pretty much had a week of celebrating! The night of his birthday his parents and family took us out to dinner at our usual fav- Joy Luck. Here's the group of awesome-ness that could make it:

After dinner we went back to our place where we ate brownies and ice cream and watched the Birthday Man open his gifts. This is a gift he has been wanting for a while and I totally surprised him with! A pocket watch. It is really cool and he loves wearing it anytime we dress up to go places. He is so sexy. He also got some shoes, a Green Lantern t-shirt, a book and Dexter Season 4 on DVD. Not to mention generous gifts from his parents and his bro!

We also went out to dinner on Friday night with a small group of close friends for our Birthdays and that was a blast! We went to Famous Dave's at Fort Union- holy cow. It's the best!!

Saturday night we went to dinner YET AGAIN with my family this time! I have been craving Brick Oven so we went there. We had quite the group show up, and of course I forgot my camera :( It was delicious tho and we had a blast!

For my birthday we took it easy that morning and afternoon and then headed to Scott's parents house for dinner. Scott's parents were nice enough to invite my entire family up to their house to join us. We had an awesome Italian dinner with lots of yummy food and cake! It was so much fun to be able to see both families at the same time! (Our families live about an hour apart- so that is a rare thing to see both groups in the same day!) I opened my fabulous gifts from my honey who spoiled me like crazy! He got me the final season of Lost on Blu-Ray, a cute cardigan, some cleaning accessories to go with my new steam mop (I was literally soooo excited for that!!) and he also got me a bread maker! I can't wait to use it. I love homemade bread!

I feel like we are getting so old when I hear our ages- but I still feel so young so I guess that is what counts! I love having our birthdays close together and having a week long celebration. Thanks to our family and friends for all the nice gifts and spoiling and dinners!! Happy Birthday my Love!

2011

This New Year's Eve, the Halladay Family had their traditional party! We have tempura (a whole plate full of frozen yummies to cook in oil!), floating tacos and lots of treats and yummy bubbly drinks. We played games, watched the traditional ball drop in New York and made tons of noise at midnight. It was such a blast. Here I am with 2 of my nieces and our Happy New Year gear...
The girls in their adorable pajamas. I was shocked that all 3 of them survived and stayed awake until after midnight. I love their cute sleepy faces.

And the face of New Years...
2010 was a year full of good times, rough times and lots of memories. I know 2011 will bring many new and exciting things, good times and happiness. I hope everyone had a Happy New Years Eve!!

Merry Christmas!

This Christmas we stuck (mostly) to our usual traditions. We spent Christmas Eve at my Nana and Papa's house with all the cousins, aunts and uncles. We ate dinner, exchanged small gifts and opened our Christmas pajamas and blankets. It is always so fun to see everyone and spend time with family that we rarely get to see anymore. We also had a chance to say "hi" to my cousin who is serving a mission in Florida! He comes home in June and has been an amazing missionary. We are so proud of you Ryan!

Usually we spend the night in Orem, then spend the morning opening presents and eating breakfast with my family but this year I wasn't feeling too great so we opened gifts from our parents Christmas Eve and gave them gifts from us. We spent the night at home and Christmas morning I made Scott some yummy crepes and hot chocolate. Then we had a fabulous Christmas morning. Scott was happy with his car parts and some other small gifts. And I was spoiled with a whole bunch of stuff from one of my favorite stores- Fossil.

We then spent the day at Scott's parent's house with the nieces. We had an amazing Christmas Lunch (pretty much an entire Thanksgiving meal again!!) And stayed true to our Halladay tradition by talking about the different services we did this year and presenting our Scrapbook pages. It is really nice to hear all that we can do for others.

We then watched the girls open all their gifts. They got some cute toys and were THRILLED. How cute are they?? I just love them! We also got plenty of gifts in our stockings.

That evening we went to the Care Center to visit our Grandma. Tons of family showed up and we had a good time visiting, eating cookies and giving Grandma some Christmas gifts.

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!! I can't believe this year is almost over!!

The Christmas Spirit

Today was really the first day we've done anything to get into the "Christmas Spirit" this year. It has been a rough month and with school and work and life...we haven't had a moment to go looking at lights or go to a Christmas play or any of our usual things. We haven't even put up our Christmas tree this year!! It's kinda sad...but our activities today put us in a Christmas mood and it was a good time.

Our nieces are in a dance class and they are so adorable!! Their Christmas recital was today and it was a BIG deal. They had it at the High School and the whole auditorium was packed. They looked adorable and they did such a fabulous job. Good Job girls!!!

That night was my good friend Ambria's fabulous Ugly Sweater and 'Stache Party!! We did this two years ago (http://scottandelisehalladay.blogspot.com/2009/01/ugly-sweater-and-stache-christmas-party.html) and it was a hoot. So we were excited for this years party. Here are the awesome sweaters/outfits...

And my FAVORITE part....Scott's mustache. He has been growing this out for a few weeks now and I could not stop laughing at these pictures. I kept begging him to let me color the mustache in with some make up or whatever but he liked the light/blond mustache. Ha ha ha ha. He promptly shaved this off after we returned home from the party. Dang!

I hope you all are having a good Christmas Season. I can't believe Christmas is less than a week away!

Thanksgiving

Now that Christmas is only a couple of weeks away, I thought I had better share our Thanksgiving stories now. We had a fabulous Thanksgiving this year. We spent it at the Halladay's and we were so happy that our entire family was there! Even our Idaho nieces joined us and we even had a couple friends join us as well- Becca and her son Cole. What a blessing it is to be surrounded by family and friends and to enjoy and share a FABULOUS meal together. I have to say, my mother and father-in-law sure know how to throw a party! We had quite the spread.

Here is my man enjoying some delicious Pumpkin Pie. I have never been a fan of pumpkin pie growing up, but I sure do love my father-in-laws special pie! How hot is my husband? I just love him.

One of the best moments of the day was the music portion. Our niece got a guitar for her birthday last month and she brought it down to show everyone. She even played a couple songs for us and she did an awesome job! She will be a rock star in no time. Kim wanted Uncle Scott to show all the girls a few songs as well and it was so cute. All the nieces just gathered around him without anyone prompting them or asking them to or anything. They LOVED it. There was singing and humming and even some dancing! I have the funniest video of little Lexi-pie dancing around like crazy but it was too big to load. I was very disappointed.

Grandma joined in on the fun as well :)

We spent Friday with my family who took us to see the new Harry Potter movie! Let me just say- they waited WAAAAAY too long to get these out, but I liked it anyway. Afterwards we ate out at Five Guy's- if you haven't been there, it is seriously the best hamburger I've ever had (besides the ones we make at home). I love spending time with my siblings and my parents, we always have a blast and laugh so hard. Thanks for spoiling us and taking us out mom and dad!

I have so much to be thankful for in my life! I have the best husband who is my best friend and I don't know what I would do without him. I have the best family with parents who love us and help out all the time. I have such great brothers and a sister-in-law who I love to spend time with. My sister Boots is my ultimate best friend and I love her more than she knows. I am thankful to have such awesome in-laws. A lot of people complain about their in-laws, but you know what... I love mine so much and I am blessed to be a part of their family. I am thankful for my job and the opportunity I have to go to school. I am thankful for this beautiful country and all the blessings that comes with that. And I am so thankful for all my friends (who I rarely get to see or speak with anymore) but I love them all just the same and am thankful for their friendship.

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!
